The International School Tripoli, a GEMS school is a co-educational school based in Saraj, on the western outskirts of Tripoli. The school opened in September 2005 offering the English National Curriculum, localized to reflect the culture and traditions of Libya.
The school started with more than 20 different nationalities and this figure is growing as the student population expands. Every teacher is highly experienced and well qualified, many with a background in international schools. They are supported by a team of local staff and together, demonstrate pleasure and pride in the school.
The school is located on a convenient campus, in a residential location. The development of the school is being managed in phases with the second phase of the school’s development being operational from September 2006. This included a multi-purpose hall that serves as both a gymnasium and an auditorium with seating that enables whole school concerts and celebrations. This phase also provided an indoor, climate controlled, swimming pool allowing for year round use by students as well as enhanced curriculum activities.
The third and final phase will provide a senior school building that will house a large Learning Resource Centre, specialist Science and IT Laboratories along with a drama theatre, art suite, music facilities with individual rehearsal studios and music technology suite, seminar and classrooms, an audio-visual lecture theatre and a roof-top cafeteria which will provide superb views of the surrounding areas. This is scheduled to open in September 2007.
Once complete, the International School Tripoli will provide the best school facilities in Libya.
